Born in 1984 in Minas Gerais, Brazil. He lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
Heberth Sobral has always been interested in the visual arts. He began his artistic career by taking a photography course, which led him to be invited by Vik Muniz to work as his assistant. The artist addresses everyday subjects such as behavior, thoughts, and actions through a culture focused on the representation of memories. His work offers a reflection on controversial issues. By representing objects that exist in everyone’s life, the artist invites the viewer into his work through memory. Heberth uses various mediums as his support, including ceramics, painting, drawing, banknotes, wood engraving, and dolls, to construct his own language.
