In proposing this exhibition, I started from the intuition of bringing together two artists active in different fields of visual arts who use, or have used, photography as both a technique and a means of expression, constructing panoramas with “mastery of the extreme.”
My closeness to one of the artists, Geraldo de Barros—who happens to be my father—is one of the unique aspects of this project. The dialogue between his work, developed with the maturity of a rigorous artistic career spanning over 50 years, and that of Denis Jutzeler, an artist whose work is created in the present, represents a form of challenge that deeply questions me, as I myself am passionate about photography.
